  • My husband and I have had Briggs and Riley luggage for over a decade and loved it. When my mother needed new luggage, I convinced her B&R was the best, and she bought 2 pieces. I bought a replacement carry on for my husband st the same time - carry on space has gotten smaller, and I like the spinner better than the 2-wheeler because of neck issues. Less than a year later, I am committed to NEVER buy a B&R product again. The wheels are a new split-wheel design that gets caught in the elevator gap. The new configuration is very unbalanced and falls over towards the front. The main handle was pulled off by a passenger that decided to help me get my piece down from the overhead, and when I ordered a replacement handle it took more than a month to get it back in stock, and upon arrival I found it impossible to install. The expansion structure has to be completely removed in order to access the screws for the handle, and after struggling with it for over 30 minutes, neither my husband nor I could remove the acres on one side of the expansion structure. The damaged wheel on my mother’s piece (from getting caught in the elevator gap) has never arrived. Lifetime warranty sounds good, but in practice, it’s not worth the hassle. My older pieces are of significantly better quality. I don’t mind spending the money if I’m getting higher quality, but that is not the case with current B&R products.

  • First time use of the top of the line large Briggs, and it arrived on the airline luggage belt with one side of the handle hanging off. The other side was ripped off the holding screw in a clean break. Poor quality. Had to order handle spares, which cost "shipping and handling" fees. My Samsonite lasted 10 years without a single problem.

  • Repair kit is easy to order and delivery is prompt. Have not installed but the fact that I use the luggage less than 10 times bought 2 years ago need to change handle. Hmm

  • It was great to be able to easily repair the broken handle of my suitcase myself.
    However, one star off since the handle is not well-designed in the first place. It should not have broken so easily in the first place. I've never had a handle on a suitcase fail. It broke just as I was pulling it up off of the luggage carrousel at the airport. I was actually looking right at it, and it had no visible damage before it broke. But as I swung the suitcase up, it fractured. I guess it is possible that it had been previously stressed in some way, but it looked fine. Of course this happened on the first day of a three-week vacation, and it was a major inconvenience to have to just use the fabric side handle. Now I have a replacement, but I have to worry that the same thing will happen again. I was hoping that the replacement handle would look sturdier than the original, but it looks identical.
    Also, I have a tan/green suitcase, and when I first looked at the website, only the black handle was available. I ordered it, but wasn't pleased with my mis-matched handle. Then I looked at the website again, and suddenly the matching tan/green handle was there. So I ordered a second one. I am pleased to have a matching handle now and it was nice to get it for free but I did have to pay shipping fee twice. Would have been better if the website had said "backordered, available in two weeks" or some such.

  • The damage to handles and leg supports have been high for the luggage. I am not seeing the materials hold up as I have with other luggage I have used.

  • I bought a replacement kit for the handle on my suitcase, but there were no instructions on how to get into the interior of the bag to attach the handle. I have to drag it down to a luggage repair service downtown.

  • Carry handle on my 25" baseline 2 wheeler was damaged by airline in February. After looking at my options, ordering the replacement part (no cost,except shipping) and making the repair myself was the easiest and fastest. Interior lining opened easily to provide access to screws. While I had the lining open, I recognized that other screws required tightening. Repair time approx 30 minutes. All set for next adventure in mid-March. Took time to examine my other 25" 2 wheeler and tightened any loose screws.
